Few of us enjoy waiting at traffic lights, which can be dangerous for impatient pedestrians willing to risk their lives just to cross the street earlier. Well, it seems that Smart has found a solution to this problem by incrementing safety in Lisbon’s streets in Portugal!
The Smart Company recently created The Dancing Traffic Light, a guerilla marketing campaign providing a fun and safe way to keep people from venturing into the street before it’s safe to cross.
The firm placed a dance room on a square in Lisbon in Portugal and encouraged random pedestrians to go into the box and dance. Their movements were then displayed in real time on several pedestrian crossings of the static red main. Fun, safe and smart!
The company reported an increase in 81% of people stopping at the red light when it danced. The operation was designed as part of Smart’s ad campaign which focuses on safety in the city.
